Same Day - Prints can be ready in as fast as ONE HOUR.
Overnight - Prints should be ready for pick-up by 12:00 p.m. Customers requiring earlier pick-up should be accommodated whenever possible.
3-Day - (Ex.: film left on Tuesday would be ready for pick-up Friday). Standard pick-up time on 3-DAY orders should be 12:00 p.m. on the date due. Those requiring earlier pick-up on the due date will be accommodated whenever possible.
Online Express Prints - Prints can be ready in as fast as ONE HOUR depending on volume.
Online Creative Prints - Prints up to 12x18 can be ready in as fast as ONE HOUR depending on volume.Allow 3 business days for larger sizes.

In Store Kiosk Ordering

Harold’s can produce archival photographic prints from digital memory cards and computer files in-store. Kiosks offer a variety of services. Many digital cameras use an image size proportion of approximately 4x5.4. When printing digital reprints, choose this size rather than 4x6 to avoid image loss and cropping. A Harold's associate can help you determine the aspect ratio of your camera.

Data DVD

Digital images can be written to DVD with or without a print order. ALL images on the media will be written to the DVD. Specific image file selection is not allowed. Images are saved in their original form; any edits made to an image at the kiosk is not included. DVDs are available with any service time. The price of a Data DVD is $5.99 per DVD. Multiple DVDs may be needed based on the number and size of image files.

Index Prints from Files

To easily view your images, an index print(s) can be made of the images on your digital media when you order a Data DVD. Each Index Print is 39¢ and holds 29 images. The number of Index Prints required depends on the number of images choosen to copy to the DVD. Data DVD’s are $5.99 each.

Print Surface/Border

Glossy or matte surface is available on all sizes. Specialty borders are available on a print by print basis. Because wallet prints are die cut with rounded corners, they should not be ordered with borders.

Online Express Print Ordering

Express offers quick and easy online ordering for basic photographic prints in glossy or matte surface. Express is the best method for ordering from large quantities of digital files. Available for print sizes wallet to 8x12. Cropping is not available with Express Ordering. You will be prompted to choose a pick up location and orders are uploaded directly to that location for production. You will receive email confirmation that your order has been received and another email when the order is ready for pick up. Mail orders are produced at the Prolab and additional mailing charges apply.

41st Street location and Mail location only offers 3.5x5 at 29¢ each and 8 wallet sheets at $4.99 each.

Online Creative Print Ordering

Creative Prints are uploaded and produced at Harold’s Prolab. Creative prints offer cropping, a large variety of print sizes and paper choices. Print sizes 16x16 and larger include PVC styrene mounting. Other mounting and lamination options are available. Additional charges apply.

The file sizes listed above are minimum recommendations for file formats. Larger/Higher quality files will produce higher quality prints. Advise customers to make sure their digital camera is set to a higher resolution with less compression for better quality prints.

General Information

File Format and Media Information
We recommend using the following information for optimum digital print quality.
Color: RGB
Media: CD, DVD, Digital Camera Media or Flash Drive
File Formats: .TIF (uncompressed), .BMP, or .JPG (high-quality, one-time compression) PC or Mac
Resolution: 150-300 ppi at output size (see chart on Digital Photographic Prints handout)
Image Size: Image will be proportionally sized to fill standard print sizes, which means excess image portions may require cropping.

Digital File Size Recomendations

The file sizes listed above are minimum recommendations for file formats. Larger/Higher quality files will produce higher quality prints. Make sure your digital camera is set to a higher resolution with less compression for better quality prints.

File Conversion and Recovery

File Recovery

We are able to take a digital media with unreadable files that cannot be opened. In some cases, using specialized software Harold’s is able to recover these files. If recovery is possible, all files on the media will be recovered. The recovery system will recover ALL images on the media, not specific images.

The first attempt at recovery should be made using the in-store recovery software. If recovery using this software is possible, it is the fastest way to recover files. After successful recovery, images are written to CD/DVD and returned along with the original media. In-store file recovery is $15.99 per DVD. Depending on the number of recovered images, more than one DVD may be required. Each DVD used is $15.99. Prints can be ordered at the time of recovery if requested. In-store recovery may be completed same day or next day based on the time required to complete the recovery.

If in-store recovery is not successful, we will submit the media to the Harold's Prolab for a more aggressive attempt at recovery. Prolab recovery is $29.99 per CD/DVD. After successful recovery, images are written to CD/DVD and returned along with the original media. Prints can be ordered at the time of recovery if requested. Allow 2 business days for recovery.

Occasionally recovery may require extreme measures at an additional cost. Customers will be contacted to approve any media recovery that will exceed $29.99.

File Conversion

Consumer files are not always created in standard photographic print sizes. Images that cannot be converted or cropped to photographic print sizes are subject to a $2.00 per image resizing fee. Files submitted in formats other than those listed require conversion before printing. They are subject to a $2.00 per image conversion fee.
