Digital photography and printing can be tricky at times. Here is some valuable information and helpful pointers for beginners.
DEFINE: DIGITAL IMAGING
Digital Imaging is the computerized creation, manipulation or enhancement of an image. It is simply a process translated into digital language for use by a computer. Negatives, slides and prints can all be translated into digital images.

Digital Photographs can be created with a traditional camera using film or with a digital camera that uses a memory card.

PRINTING DIGITAL PHOTOS
With a high quality image file (determined when the photo is taken), digital images can be successfully printed either on a home inkjet/laser printer or by a photo lab. Images printed on home inkjet and laser printers usually require less information than Digital Photographic Prints; however, the quality you receive from a photo processing lab (such as Harold's Photo Centers) will surpass that of a print from a home printer.

WHY SHOULD I PRINT DIGITAL IMAGES?
(…WHEN THEY ARE SAFE ON MY COMPUTER)
With the popularity and convenience of digital photography, it's easy to store your digital images on your computer and allow them to gather "dust". As stated above, you can print your digital images at home, but you will not get the archival, long-lasting quality as you do from Harold's Photo Centers.

You don't want to regret not printing your photos later. With all the computer viruses, and possibilities of deleting photos to free-up space on your computer or memory card, it's important to get those files printed or burned onto a Harold's Photo CD for safe keeping. Then you'll have photos to pass down through the generations.
